COERR Mae Sariang Organized Training for Youth and Refugee Children

On October 16-17, COERR Mae Sariang and the Border Patrol Unit organized the Scout Training as school break activity to fill these refugee youth with life skills focusing on order and discipline, patience, unity, teamwork to form youth’s behavior as well as to strengthen relationship among refugees from Ban Mae Lama Luang camp and the youth visitors from Mae La Oon camp. There were 98 youth attending the training: 50 from Mae Lama Luang (26 female and 24 male) and 48 from Mae La Oon (25 female and 23 male). We had the trainers from the Border Patrol Unit to ensure the proper training activities for these youth.

For refugee children development, COERR also organized the Saturday Activities in both camps on October 10 and November 14. Children are welcome to spend their weekends at the space provided and enjoy all activities for their learning and entertainment, i.e. reading, drawing and painting, playing, etc. that draw the attention of many children who enjoyed learning and meeting more friends and gain courage in playing with others.

In October, there were 301 children attended the the Saturday Actitivities in Ban Mae Lama Luang and 271 children in Ban Mae La Oon.

On November 14, there were 303 children in Mae Lama Luang and 306 in Mae La Oon attended the Saturday activities in groups, while the Child Friendly Space for reading and playing in Ban Mae Lama Luang had 844 children and Ban Mae La Oon had 1,021 children attended.
